Total SA plans to add more than 200 gas stations to its current network of over 500 sites in South Africa, said Pierre-Yves Sachet, managing director and chief executive officer for Total South Africa, in an interview with Bloomberg.
“In retail, we clearly want to grow and to grow by 200 to 300 service stations in the coming few years,” said Sachet.
With 20 sites already planned for this year, Total could look for partnerships in order to increase its forecourt count as fast as possible.
Total expects to resume drilling on South Africa’s first deepwater well by the end of this year or first quarter 2019 after operations had to be suspended in 2014.
